Potomac Watershed
Clark and Warren County
The goal of this 949-acre Nutrient Bank located in Warren and Clarke Counties, Virginia is to reduce nutrient (phosphorus) and sediment loading into the Chesapeake Bay watershed via the conversion of active agricultural land into forest; and generate nonpoint nutrient credits for transfer under existing and future federal, state and local law, programs, regulations and guidance. The site currently consists of agricultural land in hay production with the remainder in forest or other non-agricultural use. This site sits within the twelve-digit hydrologic unit code (HUC) 020700070103. Specifically, the Project drains to both Wolfe Marsh Run and Borden Marsh Run, both of which then run directly into the Shenandoah River, the principle drainage for eight-digit hydrologic unit code (HUC) 02070007.
