A 501(c)3 non-profit Organization – Formed in 1993 the Mathews Land Conservancy relies solely on private donations, grants and use fees for general operations as well as land acquisition, property maintenance, improvements, project construction, and maintenance. No monies or local tax dollars are received from the County of Mathews.

Preserving and Protecting Mathews County’s priceless natural resources is the mission of the Mathews Land Conservancy. We are dedicated to making the area’s waterways and natural lands accessible to the entire community and its visitors, so that all can enjoy the very qualities that make Mathews County a natural resource.
