Emerald Ash Borer Treatment Program Updated:05/2019

The Virginia Department of Forestry (VDOF) will distribute funds in a 50/50 cost-share program for the treatment of ash trees threatened by Emerald Ash Borer (EAB).  View a detailed Description of Application Process and Additional Information

Eligible applicants include individual landowners as well as organizations such as municipalities, non-profits, schools, universities, and homeowner’s associations. Only trunk injection treatment of an emamectin benzoate product will qualify for cost-share.

A quote/bid must be obtained from a certified Pesticide Applicator to be submitted with the Cost-Share Application. Prior to treatment, a VDOF Forester must inspect and approve the tree(s) of interest, then submit to VDOF HQ. If the project is approved, the applicant will receive an approval letter and treatment can then begin.
