Dr. Hickman graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Her first two years post-graduation were spent working in both a general small animal practice and an emergency veterinary practice in the gulf coast of Florida. In 2008, Dr. Hickman, moved to Roanoke. After arriving in Roanoke, she worked for five years at a daytime small animal practice in the valley, serving as Medical Director and Veterinarian in Charge in 2013. In 2014, she left day practice and spent one year serving as Assistant Professor of Veterinary Technology at Blue Ridge Community College. During this time, she also received her CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) title from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Hickman served as an associate veterinarian at Emergency Veterinary Services of Roanoke from the summer of 2015 and until late May 2018.
