Kerry Hutcherson grew up in the Richmond area and has spent most of his life in Virginia. He has a B.A. from VA Tech, a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a J.D. from the University of Richmond. Upon graduation from law school in 2007, Kerry was hired as Staff Counsel of the Virginia Outdoors Foundation (VOF), Virginia’s leader in land conservation. As in-house counsel for VOF, Kerry focused on conservation easement defense and enforcement, but he also drafted and reviewed hundreds of conservation easement deeds each year. He is also a regular speaker at land conservation seminars.
Kerry has recently left VOF to join RudyCoyner, Attorneys at Law and expand his practice area beyond the field of land conservation to include commercial and residential real estate transactions, land use law, landlord-tenant law, and other land-related legal services. Kerry also intends to continue working with conservation easements, and he is ready and able to serve prospective conservation easement donors, owners of properties that are currently protected by conservation easements, and private land trusts.
