Allegheny Mountain Institute (AMI) is a 501(c)3 educational nonprofit organization that cultivates healthy communities through food and education. AMI’s vision is a thriving network of collaborative, vibrant communities who value the connection between food and health.
AMI’s flagship program is an 18-month Farm and Food Education Fellowship that prepares and empowers individuals to become teachers and ambassadors for a more vibrant and accessible local food system founded in 2011 (as the Allegheny Mountain School). Selected Fellows spend six months in immersive training on the AMI mountain farm campus (Phase I) and one year in service work with non-profit partner organizations (Phase II).
